MKC Moto: Increasing Profitability

MKC Moto proves what passion for products combined with entrepreneurship can achieve. What started as a hobby in 2006 grew—after turbulent early years—into an international brand for motorcycle clothing and accessories, employing over a hundred people. Created by and for enthusiasts, across multiple channels. Zeo has been collaborating with the company for years.

MKC Moto was originally known as MotorKledingCenter. Under this name, the company started with a single physical store in Hazerswoude. After struggling during the economic crisis, a period of growth began under the leadership of Mark Bos, who took over from his father, André. A webshop was launched, and the young Bos found inspiration in an American motorcycle apparel store. He invested heavily in video marketing, showcasing and reviewing all products, which resulted in strong rankings on Google. This was followed by the opening of new stores in the Netherlands and Belgium, partly through acquisitions.

The Challenge of MKCMoto.nl

The Bos family sought new ways to sell motorcycle clothing and accessories from leading brands beyond physical stores. With his mind set on online growth ambitions and international expansion, Mark came into contact with Chris Jongeling, founder and director of Zeo.

“Service is one of our driving forces, and as a customer, you benefit from it.”

Approach and Collaboration

What approach did we take?

Over the years, Zeo has successfully provided various online marketing services for MotorKledingCenter, including Google Ads, SEO, social advertising, and personalization. After merging with the Belgian company Joma Moto and subsequently rebranding, the client decided in 2021 to take more control over their online marketing. As a result, Zeo’s role transitioned from execution to a more advisory function.

Results of the Collaboration

The goal of growing the online channel alongside retail sales was successfully achieved. In recent years, MKC Moto’s online revenue has more than doubled.MotorKledingCenter’s success did not go unnoticed. In the spring of 2020, a majority stake was sold to Richa, the Belgian motorcycle apparel brand. This acquisition paved the way for further international expansion and the merger with Joma Moto. Today, MKC Moto has stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Austria. At the end of 2020, the new international website, www.mkcmoto.com, was launched—serving as a central hub for motorcyclists across different countries.
